Pekka Vehviläinen
My favorite themes are seascapes and lighthouses, ships and boats, archipelago and finnish landscapes. I get inspired of old factories and ruined houses and wreks – they are like compressed life, historical layers side by side.
I live in Finland in Hanko, which is the most southern town in Finland and a very picturesque fisher village. I left my quarter-century work as a city planner in Helsinki and moved to Hanko as a free artist partly because the nearness of lighthouses Gustavsvärn and Russarö.
I have painted large watercolours from many of the old lighthouses in Finland and made prints and postcards, some of which are presented at my homepages. Paintings You see on this page are made in Malta, where I stayed during five winters.
See paintings here.
I paint landscapes, buildings, boats etc also by order, preferable on the spot, but when necessary even from photos. Let me paint Your house, summer cottage, boat or favourite lighthouse. You may use the painting for prints, postcards etc.!
